Pet Semetary. This is a DVD i had been wanting to see again for a while. The movie is based on the novel from Stephen King the master of horror. In general, King's books dont translate well to movie format. I have to say this is not the case here as in last movie from King i reviewed (review #100 The mist) excellent result as a movie. This movie from director, Mary lambert who also did part 2 of the same movie as well as directed many famous music videos. Although it is now 21years old it is still effective as a solid horror movie.
With a good casting including Dale Midkiff as Dr Creed the main protagonist, Fred Gwynne as his front neighbor (he played Frankeinstein in the 60's Munsters) and Denise Crosby (worshipped by trekkies for her role as Tasha Yar) we should not forget the excellent work done by the two Creed kids played by Miko Hugues and Blaze Berdhal. The actor play is fairly good but the script and story make it fly. The special effects are now a bit dated but were excellent fo the time and definitely set a creepy mood for the film. An entertaining movie with a moral to boot. The film relates the story of a family moving to a new house in the country side which is adjacent to a pet cemetary. The trick is that behind it lies an old indian graveyard which has the power to bring back from the dead any creature buried there. The catch is that they come back with a different attitude than when they left. A series of murders ensues misuse of the powers of this graveyard... whoooo. Still creeps me out after all these years. This is a truly scary movie which really trasnlates properly the moods of the Stephen King novels. Gotta see once at least.

[Talking on the phone] Gage: First I play with Judd, then Mommy came, and I play with Mommy. We play Daddy! We had a awfully good time! Now, I want to play with YOU!
Louis Creed: What did you do?
Gage: HE HA!
Louis Creed: What did you do?
...
Victor Pascow: I'm sorry Louis! I'm so sorry, but don't make it worse! DON'T!
Louis Creed: I waited too long with Gage, but with Rachel! It will work this time, because she just died, SHE JUST DIED A LITTLE WHILE AGO!
