Genre: Horror/Horreur
Anee/Year: 1980
Format: Blu Ray uncut edition (2009)
Friday the 13th is not a movie it is a genre. The whole movie is built on a very poor script and acting quality is very thin. The movie's director did not set out to do anything more than making a living as he was between soccer movies (...) He did however hit a nerve with the young american public and a new genre was created. There are today more than 13 movies holding this title. Funny sometimes how a memory can be held only from a small instant in a film. The story was very predicatable and special effects which were stunning back in 1980 are less than so so today. The movie holds it strenght in it's final punch in the movie's last 5 minutes.
Friday the 13th was reissued in Blu ray last year. The transfer is acceptable in quality, but the black levels were not so good. Still acceptable for a clean transfer to BR. I was stunned to find that many options on the jacket were no where to be found on the disc.
It was still an interesting revisit of a 30 year old memory (ouch that hurts).
